So I always install the whole thing and it is sooo annoying Would probably screw up a lot of my downloads, mods, hacks if I'd decided to permanently play in a reduced set after all that time. I also always played with the full set so I don't know which expansion brought which new feature or cheat code with it cause I've never had it any other way. I always hope that I don't have to reinstall the game again but I know this time will come sooner or later, maybe because I just want a newer computer or a different OS but most likely because one of the win 10 updates screws me again *lol* Also good if I wanna help out a friend and can test things with the same game installation they have. I just started using AGS (for my cd version) a while back and it really is great fun and very helpful to create empty games or change the language. There's also an Anygame starter for UC, seems to be in testing mode since 2017 though Indeed, if I was reinstalling again I would be tempted to go with a reduced set up especially as there are so many build buy articles made base game. The advantage of running with the CDs is that you can run anygamestarter which can be fun. I agree it is a drag reinstalling everything though. I have read about other things like how to configure SimPe with it and that the download folder would be in a different place so I'm confident I'd find my way around those kind of questions. I also think if I ever have to reinstall the game it would be more comfortable to have just this one installer instead of going through ALL of the CDs again. I still have my normal CD version of the game but I just wanna be safe to have a way to keep playing the game in the future should anything happen. I heard UC in general sometimes doesn't show the items from the holiday pack (or other particular expansions), any experiences there especially with that link I posted? Pretty sure UC never needed a CD to begin with but after some confusing posts I better ask: does it require/contain a no CD crack? Does this installer still require/install the Origin stuff? Did anyone try these and could say for sure there's nothing malicious in the installer? So I keep seeing links to where I could download the Sims 2 Ultimate Collection for free and this one is supposed to be a trusted site for it but I'd still wanna know a few things and I was hoping anyone here might have experiences/answers: If it's not a pre-2012 disc as I thought it was, then I will just buy one from Amazon and see if I get some luck there.Ok sorry if this has been asked before (I can't find a search function on leefish!) and if it's somehow against the rules to ask this please delete the post right away. I have kept origin from auto-patching the game or even starting the auto-patch process, which it did the first time I installed the base game, by setting origin to offline. My husband purchased it for me whenever it came out. I now have a disk that was sims 3 plus seasons and the disk says the copyright on it is 2012. I originally purchased the game online through gamestop, I think, as a digital download, however it kept giving me issues to download it when my game messed up. Also, the version.tag file in my documents folder for sims 3 also says that it's on 1.67. My launcher does say 1.67 and Origin even keeps asking me to update to 1.69 when it connects to online. If you'd like help doing an all-disc, no-Origin install, just ask. If you're not sure when your base game disc was made, check the copyright date in the fine print on the back of the case. Then you'd end up on patch 1.67 and be able to bypass the launcher and use the tools you want. The other option, if your base game disc was manufactured before September 2012, is to uninstall the entire game, clean your computer's registry, and reinstall using only the discs, without allowing Origin to interfere at all. In this case, it would be a good idea to remove the registry entries related to that particular pack before reinstalling, because disc-based entries and Origin-based entries have different characteristics, at least some of the time. One is to uninstall your newest pack by release date and reinstall it through Origin, which would remove the need to use the disc. If you are in fact on patch 1.69, you have two options. Origin also doesn't allow players to bypass the launcher. To double-check, look in the lower left corner of the launcher, and you'll see your game version. It sounds like you're already on patch 1.69, both from the location of the game files (in Origin Games) and because Origin is controlling the process of launching.
